Business is increasingly globalised, as a result, companies are sending staff to locations all over the world. This could include manufacturers travelling to meet a new supplier, staff members attending a conference abroad, or people deployed to work in remote locations (including the energy and shipping industries).

Example:

A drinks manufacturer sends its Purchasing Manager to West Africa to meet a potential supplier of fruit. Upon arrival, they travel to a hotel in the central business district and check into their room. A loud explosion is heard across the street at another hotel, followed by repeated sounds of gunfire. The company took out response24 memberships for all of its travelling staff, so the manager calls the crisis line. A security manager with experience in counter-terrorism provides immediate advice, while local teams are deployed to provide on-the-ground security and protection.
